He graduated from Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1984. He has been engaged in art education and devoted himself to the oil painting creation of northern farmers.
In 1995, he obtained a master’s degree in oil painting from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. His research direction is large-scale oil painting art; In 1996, his first collection of personal paintings was published; In 1997, he was awarded the Luo Zhongli Oil Painting Scholarship by Taiwan’s “Mountain Art Foundation”;
In 1998, he graduated with a master’s degree and held a personal exhibition at the Art Museum of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts; now a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Oil Painting Society, Sichuan Fine Arts Professor of Oil Painting Department and postgraduate tutor;
In 2004, he was awarded the title of “Chongqing Excellent Young and Middle-aged Key Teacher” by Chongqing Education Commission; published in 2005, “Chinese Contemporary Oil Painter Chen Shuzhong”; in 2006, he was awarded as Excellent Teacher of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts.
In 2007, it was awarded the first batch of “five batches of literary talents” in the departmental propaganda culture of Chongqing; in 2008, the oil painting “2002 Fengjie Old Town in the Demolition of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area” was awarded the fourth session by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. 陈树中的《野草滩系列油画》是以中国东北大地的山川草木、风土人情为情感依托，而所抒发的更多的是画家对人与自然、生命的关照、对迅猛加快的都市化进程的感受，对淳朴的人类家园的留恋与回望。
