Zhang Bo, 1982 born in Shenyang, China

Zhang Bo is a contemporary Chinese artist who has a unique approach to constructing his painterly compositions.
In his works, he integrated his various personal experiences and achievements in art exploration into the images he created. He endeavored to visualize time, transforming quiescent history and culture into fresh and visible contemporary sense. All of these are time indications, yet this is not the artist’s intention. The artist aims at getting through the past and present, discovering the charisma and fantasy of creation, and pursuing the visual answer to the source of culture memory.
His works allude to the first signs of western influence in China’s economy, an influence that would proceed to transform the nation throughout the 1990s till today. Despite being visually attractive, there is so much more that is implicit in depth of his works – topics seldom discussed yet still prevalent in our society, such as exploring the unpredictable nature of human behavior and the procession of our modern society’s progress.
